Bat Mitzvah Service
This will be a reformed Jewish service at our temple. Binah has been preparing for this for years and she will take a large role in leading prayers and reading from The Torah. This service is a rite of passage for a young adult to become a bat mitzvah, or “daughter of the commandments.” Many songs will be in Hebrew, but there will be a lot explained and discussed in English.

Binah’s Mitzvah Project
For my bat mitzvah, I am collecting essential items for women and children seeking emergency shelter from domestic violence at the Shalom House in Harrisburg. Please bring donations to our temple lobby, or to me, between now and September 27.
- Clothing — Gently used or new clothing for women and children (casual or business casual wear, socks, shoes).
- Pantry Items — Non-perishable canned goods and packaged food (rice, pasta, nuts, dried beans, dried fruit, jerky, peanut butter, chips, crackers).
- Personal Care — New, unopened hygiene products (shampoo, conditioner, soap, body wash, deodorant, feminine hygiene items, toothbrushes, toothpaste).
- Household Essentials — Linens, towels, twin bedding, dish soap, laundry detergent, and paper products (toilet paper, paper towels).
